| June 10 | Online registration is open. Students can begin creating their teams. |
| October 5, 12:00am | The question is posted online and emailed to every competitor. |
| November 5, 11:59pm | Submission deadline. Each team must have submitted their report of up to 4 pages and 4 appendices by this time to be considered. |
| November 12 | The competition finalists are notified. |
| November 19-21 | Finalists are flown to Waterloo and present their ideas to a panel of judges. |
